Jan 2008: Slide
Scanning and Quantitative Image Analysis Available
| | January 2008 We are
pleased to announce that the Johns Hopkins Department of Pathology
Tissue Microarray (TMA) Core Facility (located at 418 Bond Street
B312) is now offering new technology for slide scanning and
Quantitative Image Analysis of histologic and tissue microarray
sections!
Manual slide analysis is highly subjective,
laborious, and commonly employs broad visual scoring protocols that
are less than ideal for research. The TMA Core Facility is now
offering high throughput automated whole slide
imaging of microscope slides and TMA sections using the Aperio
ScanScope CS System. There are also various options for
semi-automated quantitative image analysis. A variety of
formats can be analyzed with this system, including human tissues,
animal tissues, or cell pellets singly or incorporated into a TMA.
This system is also compatible with TMAJ software (http://tmaj.pathology.jhmi.edu)
for managing image files and information related to your
experiments.
Please email Helen Fedor at hfedor1@jhmi.edu or call 4-1660
to set up a free consultation regarding your project.
